Maesron

The Maesron Alliance is a large federation-like mix of several races, dominated by three mammalian species that found that working together was more efficient than fighting. The Maesron eventually became the most powerful faction in the sector until internal strife caused by the aggressive domination of one of the founding races nearly destroyed it. Over time, the other races of the former alliance began to build up their resources, combined with new alien powers and eventually regained their former standing within the fractious Omega Sector.
