Iridani

The Iridani Questers are an otter-like race from a small star cluster just outside the edge of the Milky Way Galaxy. Originally they came to the galaxy in single ships (or more rarely, in small groups) to perform "Knightly" quests.  Their cluster was subsequently conquered by the Andromedans, but there were so many Iridani in the Milky Way that they were able to get together and liberate their home stars, eventually thwarting the Andromedans and their effort to conquer the Omega Sector.
